Bespoke Solutions
JFRH has a high quality design and manufacturing capability with experience of delivering bespoke manipulation and handling systems for operations in hazardous environments. Examples of such solutions are included below:
De-fuelling Verification Machine:
A diverse system to confirm that the removal of all reactor fuel elements has been successfully completed in line with regulatory requirements.
Re-heater Tube Welding Manipulator:
Failed steam tubes in the boilers are required to be mechanically isolated. The machine identifies the location of the failure, prepares the repair area and undertakes the repair by the insertion and welding of a pre-manufactured plug.
Modular Waste Processing Facility: JFRH designed equipment to enable the remote processing and packaging of drummed hazardous materials which are incorporated into a suite of modular enclosures to deliver a turnkey, self contained processing facility.

Reactor Cartridge Removal System:
A manually powered system to enable the location, retrieval, transfer and packaging of high dose rate cobalt cartridges from a graphite reactor core.
Reactor Endoscope Deployment System:
During extended operations the condition of reactor gamble joints has give cause for concern. This mechanism enables the deployment of a high resolution camera system from the pile cap to undertake visual inspections of the gamble joints in order to gain confidence as to the integrity of the joints.
Disc Saw:
A 1.0m diameter, ‘intelligent’ disc saw to enable the size reduction of redundant crucibles.
