Mechanical Design Services
JFRH have a comprehensive design capability for mechanical components, sub assemblies and complete turn-key packages. We use Autodesk Inventor and UGS Ideas 10 software packages supplemented by MathCAD, Matlab and Ansys.
The JFRH mechanical design capability includes 3D modelling of facilities, mechanisms and components and the evaluation of sequenced operations to validate motions and interfaces. For facilities, access constraints and deployment routes can be assessed and optimised in the design phase. For sub-assemblies which are due to go into an existing facility, vessel and area monitoring can be supported by LASER scans and camera surveys where necessary. Integrating the existing plant layout into the 3D model ensures that retrofits can be optimally designed.
Additional validation methodologies routinely used include FE stress analysis, mechanism analysis and thermal modelling.
The design packages support the systems analysis and facilitate the production of analysis reports to document the validation of the design.
Another important benefit of computer based design is efficient transfer from the 3D CAD image to detailed manufacturing drawings with corresponding reductions in both the time required and opportunity for human error.
JFRH design packages also allow a direct CAM interface with the CNC machine. Additional on machine work piece and tool monitoring completes the design for manufacture cycle and assists in a right to drawing product with resultant reduced hardware assembly times.
